The Not So Wicked Witch of the North

IMG_7617

Let me introduce you to my new favourite footwear this autumn. A pair of super comfy gillies that might look equally super in size. They aren't, however they are actually man's shoes due to the simple fact that I was unable to find a decent pair of walking on air shoes in the lady's department thus somewhat reluctantly found myself expanding the search area. And yes, this time I was, actually, in bad need of a proper pair of shoes due to the feet/leg problems I've been experience on-off post-holiday.

I'm glad to announce that the expanded search has proven to be just the thing, these quirky in a subtle way looking shoes have been truly lovely for walking in city streets. Plus they bring back pleasant memories of the late 80ies - early 90ies when I pretty much all the time wore gillies, black tights and suits and being a somewhat happy-go-lucky kind of gal.

I'm neither that carefree nor much of a suit wearer these days, but the shoes go well with pretty much every mood as well as skirt. Hence they work for days when one feel quirky pretty or pretty quirky, seriously business and of course very much so for the Wicked Witch of the East (North) days.

I do leave my munchkins, the broom and the peaked hat at home those days, but I still like to team the shoes up with appropriately striped tights. And since I'm not exactly as wicked at heart as one might think - I mean I have been known to go for friendly walks with Toto in Malte shape - I'm not the least bit afraid of getting squashed by a falling house whilst out and about. Well, maybe a wee bit scared.

Thanks, Paz, yup, stockings and they're perfect for those days when you feel slightly contrary...:)

Pia I dig your tights. I spent all winter in my grey and black striped long socks.

I have developed flat feet, which has been a painful curse of being on my feet all day at the hospital. I have found KEEN shoes to be super comfortable, and up to a full days wearing without any pain. They would be perfect for your weekend adventures, although maybe not dressy enough for lawyer work.

Anyway you look very smart for the coming cold season.

Oh, that's not nice at all, sorry about your feet, Julia:/

Thanks for the tip about Keen, I'm not to fond about their sneekers or sandals but I do love the looks of the Winthrop boots and all the different mary janes, I even see that there is one boot named Stockholm! I will definitely have a look if I can find them in Stockholm:)
