Ruby Tuesday

071116 010

Outside my window there's more white (spelled first snow, the alas sloshy kind) going on than the tiniest hint of natural red this time of the year. So I put on my ruby shade mittens and dream of spring bringing red tulips and pink shoes.

I love your photos of knitted items. I spent part of today looking for just the right pinks in a variegated yarn to use for a child's winter cap with cat's ears. Happy Ruby Tuesday.

The snow is a perfect backdrop to the non-seasonal items placed in it. Not that I don't appreciate winter, but instead of snow I'd rather be barefoot in beach sand.

But at least that snow is the freshest ground blanket!

That's a cozy knitting post for snowy days, with dreams of tulips and pink shoes : this is poetry !

Have you made the mittens yourself?
Seem to remember you made some nice jewelry earlier this fall.
They are so nice and elaborate crafted.
Like you I dream about brighter days, only I haven't planted my tulip bulbs yet.

Those mittins are so colorful, BUT I much prefer the spring tulips. That by far is my favorite time of the year.
Happy RT.

Love your photo of knitted items, got me thinking it was about time I dug out my Winter woolies! The tulips are a lovely reminder that Spring is not that far away and Winter will soon be over, after all it's nearly Christmas!!!

The knitting is so comforting and warm and soft and cozy. I love how you juxtaposed the knitting with the longing for warmer days. Very nice!

Lovely colours Pis! I absolutely adore tulips and I have similar shoes to that. However, I am trying not to dream of summer. It will just depress me!

me ann my camera - thanks! Oh that cat cap sounds intriguing, I hope you'll make a blog post of it once it's made:)

Ralph - getting older I too find that I lean towards sand between my toes before snowy winter. On the other hand it might be different if we still had proper Scandinavian, heaps of snow winters here, sigh...

Hildegarde - ah, thanks:)

Felisol - oh yes, the mittens are my own work, have been making such mittens since highschool, my grandmother was a great teacher. Oh, no new tulip bulbs for me this season, I spent last autumn planting about 200 new ones which I bought in Denmark and Amsterdam. Hopefully a few more of them will appear this spring...

lotus reads - thanks for a sweet comment!

Thanks, Dianne.

Raven - thanks for stopping by leaving nice words.

Risa - thanks for visiting.

Thanks, webradio.

Thanks for stopping by, Becky.

charmainezoe - it sure is the time for woollies! I think it's absolotelt freezing, I wonder when I became such a wimp when it comes to low temperatures...?

Thanks for a sweet comment, pagansphinx!

Thanks, boliyou!

Thanks, Holler, I try - with more or less good results - to both enjoy this dropping temperature and darker days at the same time as I dream of milder weather, more sun and longer days...

I guess it is time to wear those pretty crochet mittens. Spring is just around the corner if you count away a few c0ld month and the time will come to wear the snazzy pink Zoccoli.

Those colors are luscious in your knitted things. I wish we could find sweaters in colors like that. And the snow makes a surprising and beautiful background for your tulips and sandals!

I love your knitting and I too will wait for flowers and sandals...sigh..

Indeed it is mitten time, Titania, a bit tricky to try and enjoy the cold and not dream too much of spring, sigh...

Thanks, MyMaracas, I love that wool yarn, it's so easy to work with and comes in (too) many pretty nuances.

Thanks, Rambling Woods, one day at a time, warmer days to come...
