Cinnamon Bun Day today! I vaguely remember my promise to post a new, much better recipe for vegan cinnamon buns. Sorry to disappoint it won’t be today, tweaking recipe and translation need to be done. But the waiting is almost over though, and October has just begun…
Every day can be a Cinnamon Bun Day!
Can’t recall if I previously said something about the inner soles I finally got for the too large sized vegan loafers I got for a bargain on Vinted this summer? Anyway I did, and they made the fit slightly better, although far from perfect. I do wish they would now be a perfect fit and my everyday choice of shoes. But there you are. Well, at least my feet haven’t grown or become swollen. And I still love the colour and quality, for a few weeks every spring/summer/autumn they will be a great addition to my shoedrobe. And one day I will have a pair of black vegan loafers of the perfect size, I’m sure.
Also, did I write a bit about The Hedgehog Drop Inn guest 2026? First appeared in August/September. But only came by for kitty food a few days alas. I truly miss those long summer months of frequent hedgehog visits. Maybe they enjoyed their visits more when I had kitties around that loved the hedgehogs. With all the tics around these past years I have not let the cats outdoors at all, the risk of TBE disease is too scary.
And Ztina has had too many tics these last years, which have led to bad allergic reactions. So outdoors is simply off limits.
And now for a few words on our general election in Sweden in September, as I know there have been plenty of false claims spread internationally. The voting fraud rumours came mainly from pro-Russian sources with links to far-right facist social media accounts. Hybrid warfare is real.
And as far-right/fascists who hate democracy, as well as stupidity are spreading as wild fires all over the world I would not be the least bit surprised if MAGA and its tech bros/billionaires are involved with here too.
The only real attempts to voting frauds in our election have been made by our own far-right/racist/facist party The Sweden Democrats (nothing democratic about them). Not by the Left Party, as there were originally claims about, in a clear hybrid attempt to undermine democracy.
They only thing truly scary here is how easily fooled stupid people are and that the left green side should have gotten many more votes. It’s highly suspicious they didn’t.
These 4 past years with so much stupidity, corruption, racism, climate denial and contempt in government has claimed its toll on our country, democracy and our reputation worldwide, not to mention the health and sanity of many of us Swedes. This is certainly not the country I grew up in, and was proud of once upon a time.
As I did my first round (and only?) as an election worker this year I spent a very very long day in a nearby polling station on election day. Open from 8 am to 8 pm. We had finally finished the first vote count at 3.30 am. It was exhausting both mentally and physically.
It took me well over a week to feel like a reasonable human again. Incl. getting my menopausal sleeping pattern sort of back on track.
A big bag of freshly picked apples 🍎 and a vega white 🍓chocolate were of perfect help as a pick me up after that exhausting weekend.
I don’t see myself applying for this kind of ”guardian of democracy” assignment ever again. But it was a good experience to get.
And in a democracy I think it should be obligatory for every grown-up citizen to do it at least once. Like a jury duty (we don’t have juries in Sweden) but an Election Duty.
We are now very much looking forward to the center-left/green-red alliance to get their s-h-i-t together and form the new government we voted for. Acting like the grown-ups we expect them to be. The Center Party is the only right wing party (but refusing to cooperate with the fascist party (so they went slightly left for climate/racism reasons, but now they act like a petulant child),
the others are The Left Party (with their best election result), The Social Democrats (with their worst election result, they are not nearly as popular as they used to be as they have turned into a some right wing light party) and my favourite The Greens/The Environment Party (with their best election result). So so much good and progressive can finally come from Swedish politics. Again.
Fingers crossed. We desperately need this change.
Had planned to write a few words about my new skincare (vegan and organic) since July. As well as deo. But I forgot to upload the photos. And perhaps that would make for a nice little post of its own?
In three weeks today my birthday is again coming up. It has been a rough year, with more lowpoints that the . opposite. I am so ready for positive and uplifting change!
Let’s make it happen! Let’s wish it happen! 💚
