I'm far from a fan of the Danish Dogma-movie concept. Except when it comes to Susanne Biers movies, they just get better and better. And give more and more food for thought.
If you haven't seen "After the wedding" yet - please do! And also two other great movies from the same director -
Brothers (Bröder) and Open Hearts (Älskar dig för evigt).
So much interesting and good things come from Denmark, not only do they have one of my favourite cities, Copenhagen, great fashion and a certain laidback atmosphere I really miss in Sweden, they also make some fantastic movies (to mention a few Italian for beginners, Wilbur wants to kill himself, Nightwatch, The Inheritance) and TV-series now and then, like Nikolaj & Julie, Rejseholdet (Mordkommissionen), The Eagle (Örnen) and Anna Pihl.
Now if they only could learn to speak proper Scandinavian and give up the filthy habit of smoking, then all would be well in the kingdom of Denmark.
