Yes, there's dandelions everywhere now - and even if I'd really prefer that they didn't do a semi-hostile overtake of most of my flowerbeds, they are the ultimate sign of the seemingly endless capacity to survive and overcome any hardship. They're quite beautiful in their very own way - though I admittedly can go *slightly* overboard when I try and weed them out of my lawn and the flowerbeds. The non-toxic way of course. And without any longterm success. In this case my feelings regarding the lack of success are ambiguous.
The dandelions are also already accompanied by the furry, fluffy, adorable miniature beings called bumblebees. Busy buzzing around, not wasting any time doing their deeds, collecting the pollen and whatever other interesting tasks they might have on their bee-list of things.
Spring with summer on its way. Fingers crossed.
Good photo of the bee! I was accosted by one today in my livingroom, mind you, the patio door was wide open! So fair's fair!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Holler, and you're quite right, what's a poor bumblebee gotta do when someone blatantly invites him/her to fly in like that...? :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the swans, beautiful! :)
Thanks, Silverstar!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried cooking dandelion leaves and/or using them in salad? They're terrific. Really. You want to encourage them!
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds really interesting, aforkful! I've only heard about dandelion wine, and since I'm not a winedrinker I haven't bother exploring, but a salad or soup, that sounds yum!
