The First Wood Anemones

080404 026

Some days, some early and very freezing and dark mornings in particular, it's still difficult to grasp the fact that it is officially spring on these latitudes.

Others it's just so very obviously spring, like when you find the year's first wood anemones. Remembering last year, it was this obvious pretty much a month later...

  1. Pretty picture.
I've been out hunting for wild garlic in the woods this week. Can't find it yet but I did spot a couple of tiny flowers. Wonder if they were anemones.

  3. Ah, just wait. It's going to be another hot summer. Putting the heat pump in reverse mode and hiding indoor by the AC, that's me, when the heat is on...

  4. Oh but last summer was wonderful! The perfect mix of heat/sun and rain/clouds. It's quite interesting since most people I've raved about last summer to said it was just cold and raining. All the time. And you, who don't like heat obviously has quite the opposite opinion...;)

My heat pump is always off during summer aka energy saving mode, but I agree it can get too darn hot sometimes, I really *dislike* it when you can't sleep properly because of the heat, grump.

  5. I agree, last summer was well balanced and the AC got its fair share of vacation as well. There has been years when it ran constantly for weeks and weeks to provide for little things like... being able to sleep at night.
