Tweed Hat & Sticky Toffee Cake

When you wake up to a gloomy, rainy Monday morning - and hey, it's most definitely still summer here! - it helps to look at holiday snaps and remembering another lovely moment on Skye. And sigh.

First I found this adorable little tweed hat at one of my favourite shops when in Scotland - one of my favourite all time shops come to think of it... -, Ragamuffin. This time I had the good fortune to be able to revisit the one at Armadale pier on Skye. More about the shop in a later post. For now let's just say I'm so going to treasure this pretty, quirky hat come autumn! Yes, real autumn and not just some silly summer excuse for autumn weather, hrmf...

Then we had this perfect moment post-shopping, a wee relax in the heat hazed sun on the tiny veranda of the equally tiny cafe The Shed at Armadale pier, just below the Ragamuffin shop. The cafe latte coffee was just nasty rubbish, but that piece of sticky toffee cake with ice cream was just. So. Incredibly. Good. Mmm. I think it just might have been the best sticky toffee thing I've ever had. And not just because it was a picture perfect sunny Scottish moment with a glorious view and I celebrated a brand new hat. I bet it would have tasted just as goody good had it rained...

  1. Pia your new hat looks really funky and that cake looks tasty. Oh to be eating cake and icecream in the sun.

Today we had sun in the morning and for the first time in months there was some warmth in it, so Poppy had a grand morning rolling around in the back garden.

    Have a nice week.

Oh I also wanted to say, the red pig is very cute and the wedding pictures are great.

  2. That hat makes me think of artist/composer/multi-talent Povel Ramel. Probably something to do with the crisp colours.

  3. Thanks, Julie! Good for you and Poppy that the sun shows its face once again, hope your week will be a good one too!

The hat is actually called at horse trader's hat, Per, but I totally see what you mean about Povel Ramel now that you pointed that out. I hope I'll get lots of funky, witty, artsy ideas when I put it on:)

Thanks, Paz, cute hat, divine chocolatey dessert, what more can one ask for?:)

Yes, aren't they the best, Wendy, I love shops that search for that extra and handmade, that don't shy away from colours and patterns and a personal touch!
