I do find it somewhat hopeful, as in all is not lost as far as Swedish summer is concerned yet, when there are still such gorgeous window boxes in bloom to be found. They don't seem deterred at all by these past very less than summery weeks we've experienced. Pretty, pretty. In pink and blue.
Alas, they are not my window boxes, um, no they didn't turn out so well despite all good advice and suggestions. I left the choice to someone else and what seemed like a neat and nice idea just didn't work, at all. It happens. And now it's soon time for something like heather and flower cabbage in those window boxes instead... Even if summer, touch wood, now and then do seem to linger on...

The pink petunias and blue Lobelia look good together, two strong colours which don't cancel each other. I am sorry your window boxes didn't work out well; never mind it happens; mine were very puny over winter and I hope I am more succsessful now in spring.
ReplyDeleteOh they do, for many years I always used to have them in my balcony boxes when I lived in an apartment, when I moved to house it was mainly petunias on their own and these past years there ahve been a lot of pansies. But somehow, lobelia and petunias is very me and they seem to be a sure thing whether rainy or sunny...
