Swedish Winter Medley

Afternoon in Djursholm, Stockholm suburb posh model

Finally something resembling a proper Scandinavian winter has sneaked up on us, not exactly heaps (alas) of snow, but still rather cold and frosty, with a decent amount of sun and crisp air. With the right kind of clothes and attitude it's quite lovely.

Well, just lovely if you don't think too much about the power failure in our area for some hours on New Year's Eve which made the heat pump go bust. Hence making the electrical bill comprise more than one would wish for next time - not exactly the most pleasing way to start off a new year, with all things bright and beautiful outside... Other than that, life's hunky dory in frosty white -

Some guys aren't very fortunate as far as frosty outdoors vs indoor snuggles are concerned - I'm happy to say I'm not one of those lesser fortunate. The perfect round off to a *near* frostbitten weekend must be a proper hairy loaf with liquorice nose cuddle ~

  1. Good shot of the guest harbor in Örsundsbro!

( Incidentally, why are the labels Malte and nuisance next to each other under this blog post. Is the hippo still with us? ;)

  2. Thanks, Per. Oh in this case nuisance and Malte have absolutely nothing in common - it's e-on/power failure/heat pump that share the label nuisance this time. Hippo alive and squeaking - see post above:)

  3. I never knew that you had such petty winters where you live.
I was surprised to see the white snow on the castle roofs![at your Ruby Tuesday post.]
What great pictures you have here!.
I love black and white pictures Pia K.
    They are so classy looking.
That guy covered with that thin layer of frost and snow sure is a looker but the little laddie in the last picture takes the prize as far as I am concerned.
    God's blessings Pia K...Love Terry

  4. Thanks, Terry! It's really a strange and very unusual winter here right now, it's not a lot of snow, but more of a thick frosty layer like someone has sprayed the world into a perfect movie set. It's gorgeous and with the sun glistening... ah, life is good:)

  6. Wee hippo is having some well deserved R&R with his squeaker friends under the bookshelf, Per. But fear not, an update of other fun and funky toys for Malte boys will soon appear at a blog near here.
