saturday generously offered a whole day of sun, sun and more glorious sun, blue, blue and bluer skies (so far only day of that this gloomy swedish november in the stockholm area) hence there was outdoors and there was walking.
there were red cottages and
there were knitting projects in progress.
~
sunday was dark and gloomy as usual this november, hence last day of alsta gardens' afternoon tea offered comfort and treats by a roaring fire for sunstarving northeners.
all and all a rather fine winter weekend. now i just hope my batteries are charged for a dreaded week to come. i might be over-analyzing and fear what not need be feared. then again i might not. at least the november weekend that was, was good.
Nice photos Pia, I really enjoyed looking through them. You make winter seem so much more appealing than it is. Maybe I need to try being more positive about it too!
ReplyDeletePia, beautiful blue skies. A pretty walkway and all your batteries recharged to take on the whole world.
ReplyDeleteThe apple tree is so wonderful with just some of the late red apples left. Afternoon tea looks delicious and cosy. Colourful knittings for white, cold winter days. The cycle of life is so much more pronounced in the cold climate then it is here.
Lovely photos, the roaring fire and the tea table are very inviting. May the weekend carry you through the week. All the best.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are lovely! What are you knitting? Are those socks? I wish I was good enough at knitting to knit socks! I tend to stay away from DPN projects....
thanks, jacqueline. well that day was a rather wonderful day with those bright blue skies. not much around of that past november, but that one day i was positive...
ReplyDeletethanks, titania. yes that's one thing i'm grateful for on these latitudes the very distinct (or at least they used to be with the proper snowy winters...) seasons. although it would be nice with a dash longer, warm summer...
thanks, p.k!
thanks, ady! both socks and wristwarmers are mmy main knitting projects these days. i actually stayed away from dpn projects too before i got hooked on socks with this yarn. now i kind of love it. mostly because the yarn i have to admit. because i have a pair of all blacks socks in progress for a friend and i hate knitting them. so utterly boring in black.
...och tack för besöket, pärlbesatt! hoppas pärlandet med de färgerna går bra, eller ja vilket pärlande som helst:)
