the pippi kettle-holder

011

Remember that on that pleasing Pippi pattern day I spotted a kettle-holder I felt an urge to make myself? As luck would have it, when we did a little post-afternoon-tea-walk-around in Söderköping I stumbled over a yarn shop that had both the pattern and the yarn for it.

It's a super-easy pattern and I think the result is quite fetching. But as my hand is still sore - I'm still hoping I will be able to rest it away, but it's now on its third week of soreness so I'm guessing that a doctor's visit might be a thing for next week if it's not better by the weekend. Although I have to say, a bit of whining in blog has been known to miraculously heal all sorts of ailments... - it took *forever* to finish.

When hand is better I'm thinking it would be a nice thing to make another kettle-holder like this and have a little summer give-away here in blog. Not now, not in this post, but a real give-away-post when hand is able to crochet properly again. Would that be of any interest to an blog-reader I wonder?

  1. Hi Pia; bespoke kettleholder is very cute and does the trick from fingers getting burned. It is also comforting to use such a pretty handmade "thing"! What is the trouble with your hand? Hope it will heal soon.
Now I want to peruse your earlier posts, as I have missed many due to my absence from blogging and a kind of apathy...I have blown now the cobwebs for a while. Hope you are happy and singing....Trudi.

  2. The kettle holder is a joy. And I love the elegant hands holding it to display it. And the ring.

    Hope your hand settles soon.

I also take care of our Dumle Facebook page (facebook.com/dumle) and I was wondering if you would be willing to let us use some of those Dumle pics in a couple of our status updates? :-) We could totally send you some Dumle candies in return (as a thank you for taking such beautiful Dumle pictures! :).
