the prettiest bathing suit
Those days when you could get into any bikini or bathing suit and look alright are long gone. Those days when one didn't have to bother with good quality underwire bras of great fit and a flattering bottom part, because pretty much everything felt comfortable and looked great.
Now I absolutely loath looking for, not to mention trying it on, bathing pieces. Always expensive, bad fit, too skimpy or too frumpy plus of course a complete disaster stylewise. I've never been a real fan of beaches and swimming anyway, at least not the overcrowded beaches, so it's not like I'm giving up on something I love just because I can't find the perfect bikini - I've never enjoyed bathing suits really, unless you're reasonably flat chested they tend to be quite unflattering and impractical imho - and when I on the very odd occasion spend time at the beach I prefer just walking. Sunbathing, when it happens, happens in the seclusion of own garden, nothing quite beats that actually.
Sometimes it would however be nice to have a great bathing suit/bikini, sometimes you can find yourself in a situation when taking a dip would be really really lovely. Today I spotted this beauty in a shop window, red, chequered and in a great model, if I was ever to look for a bathing suit this would be kind of it. Still prefer the two piece, still hate the whole trying on, quite possibly finding faults in the model for me, paying a hefty price for something you only very occasionally use so I won't bother looking any closer at this one anyway. But as a whole it's quite inspirational, perhaps I will at least go look for a bikini top this year.
How's your relationship with bathing, beaches and bikinis?

I was probably a child the last time I wore a two-piece bathing suit. Even as a young adult, I never had an attractive enough body for a bikini.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've worn a bathing suit in 15 years. I don't even own one anymore and there's almost nothing on this planet that could induce me to try one on, let alone wear one in public. It would have to be a life and death issue because money wouldn't persuade me!
Oh I totally understand Miss Pia. I have never worn a bikini, but a two piece is ok in the garden.
ReplyDeleteWe can sometimes buy online and that way you can return them if they look horrid. I hate the thought of going into a shop to try them on.
