humanity
Waking up to the news of exactly how many people who lost their lives yesterday, because one (?) person let the hate he felt inside pours over... It is indeed a thin line between feeling hate and contempt about many things in a society and then this, causing so much pain and sorrow within a few hours a day in July 2011.
There are ongoing tragedies all over this earth, every day, every minute, every second, most of them caused by homo sapiens' greed, anger, hate, selfishness and lack of compassion. The word "humanity" has always been double-faced to me, on the one hand it's meant to hold compassion, kindness and mercy. On the other hand, the most horrific deeds are most always caused by just that, the humanity, we the human beings on this earth. Many still believing humans are the finest, most superios kind of beings - if that would be the case, we wouldn't cause eachother and other fellow earth beings all this constant and in far too many cases studious pain.
Many beings lost their lives this weekend, due to hatred, if the humanity is able to learn from this, if we all do something good with our lives, feel more compassion, love and care for eachother (including other beings than mere humans naturally), for all those, all over the world, whose voices have now been silenced, maybe, then maybe, the word humanity will feel less tarnished and ill cared for.
Be kind to eachother ~
So true, Pia, so true. It is a lesson to practice everyday and it need not be a large thing.. smile at someone, talk to someone, help someone. Little actions of respect can mean big things to a stranger; you never know.
ReplyDeletePeace and Bless.
Just a little kindness, from any one of us, might help someone who is trapped in hate and self-loathing.
ReplyDeletePia, I hope we can learn to be kind, to love and to be loved.
I grieve for all of the world today.

That's a beautiful post, Pia. Humans always will commit acts out of hatred, IMO...the only thing to do is as you have stated, act for the Highest Good, in all the ways you can, however "small."
ReplyDeleteUniversal Blessings and Peace from us as well.

I hope your words reach many...the hatred of intolerance can devastate the human spirit . But the human spirit will prevail because I believe there are more kind and tolerant people in this world than not.
ReplyDeleteI am frequently ashamed to be human. As a species we wreak such harm. I guess the individuals have to keep trying, but sometimes it does seem so hard.
ReplyDeleteWe all need to be humankind, but sadly we do live in a world where people just do not respect other people simply because of differences, that are very little should they ever come to know the person or community.
ReplyDeleteI have many, many times been outraged by the way humanity treats one another. There is so much inhumanity in this world.
ReplyDeleteyou are right though, every little act of kindness adds up. Those that have kindness in their hearts must be strong and not give in to the horrors of our world.
