I had planned to write something perky about my newfound fascination about nailpolish, possibly something about shoes, good teas and bobbaloos. The good, happy matters. When the ugliness of our violent, horrific world once again struck this afternoon - the two violent attacks in Norway.
Most of us in Scandinavia live in such a naive illusion that everything is and will remain a generally hunky-dory idyll up here in the North. Far away from the human inflicted violence that is the everyday reality for many, many beings all over the world.
The attack at the youth camp makes me especially sick. Such studious evilness, only from mankind.
I followed the first reports on Twitter, sadly (as usual) the information and Twitter-flow have since derailed. People.
Be kind to eachother.
Edit - I should have provided a link, where you can read more about this, sorry, news and update in English about this can be read at BBC News Europe and here for example.
Gees, I'll have to turn on our news this evening, I hadn't heard! :-(
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you've come home to news like this...but it's all the more reason to appreciate the small, happy things in every day life, IMO.
(((Hugs)))
Saw the breaking news banner on my computer at work earlier today and have only been able to read bits-an-pieces. Home on lunch break now and trying to read updates. It is so hard to wrap my head around the idea that someone would want to kill another person. Our lives are so short. As people, has our history tought us nothing? Heart Breaks.
ReplyDeleteOMC, the story is on our evening news now...No wonder you're so upset!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pia. The news is so horrible, and I'm so sorry, and also bemused, to read about all this.
ReplyDeleteAwful, awful, awful. We don't seem (as a species) to learn very easily. Sending good thoughts. Lots of them.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to find a good news report. Here in CA it's only 4:30 in the afternoon and news comes on at six. The world does have a lot of evil.
ReplyDeleteIt is so sad that we live in such a world today. There is so much evil in the world. The saddest part is it is always the innocent that suffer. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Norway.
ReplyDeleteGale
It's unspeakably senseless. I can't put any other sentence together...
ReplyDelete*hugs* to you and Norway... terrible news.
ReplyDeleteBless and Peace to All.
I'm so, so sorry!! I think of Pia's Norway in terms of lush greens and happy Bobbaloos. Never in a million years did I think that such evil things would happen there.
ReplyDeleteOnce again we get no news here in the US. I'll have to look it up. Then again ... it's becoming a sad daily scene, and I think people are getting used to it, so it doesn't always make the news.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about it. I really wish this world could get a grip on itself.
My heart goes out to you and everyone involved.
I just read about it. I am so sorry. I know that doesn't quite fill in the hurt that man has caused, but I do understand, having been through similar here in the US. I truly am sorry, and my heart is just breaking for all those people. Seeing those pictures brought back a lot of bad memories, and I hated knowing more people are going through fresh pain right now. Norway looks a lot like Washington state, where I live. In some weird way it made it even worse - though logically I don't know how it could have been.
ReplyDeleteMy wishes for the healing to begin. Again, my sympathies.
