autumnal equinox 2015

food and drink at home, autumn 2015 -

Cheers, Autumnal Equinox, time flies, it still feels like summer was only yesterday!

It has been such a fast year and to be honest I have a difficult time keeping up with the changes. They are so subtle and the seasonal differences aren't as obvious as they used to be. I feel a bit lost actually. Strange times in so many ways.

the return of winter

stockholm suburbs, march 2015

it was bound to happen. but still, where do you file the complaint when you wake up on the second day of spring and the world looks like this?

surprise. disappointment. grumpy face and the showing of fluffy butt.

on the international day of happiness

prosit ord & bild ab's purrfect little helper

This has certainly been one of my most eventful weeks recently. And since it has mainly been an awesome kind of eventful week, what better day to summarize it on than the International Day of Happiness? And the first day of spring?

solar eclipse 2015

And of course, the day of the quite possibly most disappointing (partial) solar eclipse ever. And snowfall. Yes really.

But this is overall not a day, a week of disappointments, quite the opposite. And this is what happened -

Remember my thoughts about questioning where I was/am workwise? And that life has/had an amazing way of kicking someone me in the heinie when least expected but probably just when I needed it?

And today was the day when this was kind of implemented. This being I will still work with my up until now major client, but since their organization has changed they will no longer be able to provide me with as much job anymore. And even if it's tad melancholic, because it has been such a smooth working relationship and it has paid well, I'm also so very, very ready for new beginnings and great things to happen.

And that this new long term, part time freelance gig landed now of all times is pretty amazing I think. I've worked hard, made cosmic orders and it seems it was just the right time for it. But still, for me, a mere human being with, in the big schemes of things, limited imagination (well) and brain capacity it feels kind of magic. The saying 'When one door closes another one opens' has never been more true somehow.

The other good meetings I've had this past week especially are also about really exciting things. Different and new paths but in their own ways just what I want to do and do more of. Hopefully those quotes will be accepted but even if they're not it's been so inspirational to think about such matters, that it's actually something someone believe I'm the right person to do. Yes, I know, it's all very cryptic. But for now, that's how it'll remain.

But once again, I'm thinking about how truly grateful I am for being where I am in life right now. Truly, madly, deeply.

One big reason, I suspect, for getting the purrfect cat or dog-gig was the fact that I do have cats. Needless to say the furry ones now demand great rewards for all their hard work ie just being themselves. And really who am I, a simple human, to say no?

happy day ~ vernal equinox

vernal equinox fun

Apparently today is Happy Day according to the United Nations - I've done my best to feel and be happy all day. Generally it's not a struggle (I'm happy to say). And the day has held mostly lovely things. Two glitches, one professional (not okey behaviour and not without complications) and one is certainly the weather. Snow slush.

The other one was the snow slush. Heavy snowfall during the night, thawing within hours, add drizzling rain and hey presto slush. I think tomorrow will bring temperaturse up to +10C and sunshine. Hopefully the snow will melt and can we please say bye bye winter then? Because today is after all also vernal equinox. Spring is here for real. Or at least it should be.

Last year's vernal equinox was also a very wintery one, so all is not lost for a great rest of the year weatherwise. I suppose.

The really good things of today then? Well,
* a great big glass of fresh juice (carrot, apple and ginger).
* a really delightful movie (a very exclusive work related preview as the movie will not open until September) based on a great Swedish children's book writer's work. I am now in love with the Cucumber brothers.
* good work related things and finished assignments
* a celebratory pastry. It was lovely.

happy vernal equinox ~

shoe per diem homestyleee

Finally, spring, at least according to the calendar,
you are most welcome vernal equinox!

Fingers crossed and hopefully there won't be any nasty, longlasting snowfall coming, one never knows... But for some weeks now the days have just kept getting lighter, brighter so quickly and it's such a lovely relief after all those dark, glum months.

I hope you've had, are having, will have a lovely equinox day,
and by all means, treat yourself to something special and nice ~

autumnal equinox

184

Now is the time we can no longer ignore the fact that it is Autumn in the Nordic hemisphere, the autumnal equinox has arrived. Which makes me wistful, and I think it does call for some autumnalequinoxal treat... Let's see what the day may bring.

With some Swedish autumn glimpses
I wish every well-deserver
a lovely
equinoxic day,

on vernal equinox

Usually the blogging, writing part of my life is the air outlet that brings joy when other parts do not. Unfortunately the way I spend my days at the (too long) moment has left me drained, uninspired and sad. I do not see and find delight in all the things I usually do, which is unsettling.

So, very much alas, for now, I can't see the bright and light updates in blog being nearly as regular as they have been when a more desirable (at least reasonable) balance rule in the world of mine.

This too shall pass. It must. Today is vernal equinox and things will only get brighter and lighter (I do wish) from here on.

And the sweetest flight of blackbirds sing serenades in my garden.

autumnal equinox and waldemar two

IMG_6042

Today is the day of the autumnal equinox - which is very obvious in the mornings, quite suddenly pitch dark they are -

but more importantly it is the second birthday of one extraordinarily sweet (mostly) furry black boy named Waldemar. Since he was born the tiniest in the litter two years ago, he has been such a spunky and keen little helper in all things impawtant.

Here are some highlights from his two years;

:: the compact living modern upbringing
:: two weeks old and one month old
:: one on a blanket
:: hosting a teaparty
:: two months old
:: giving lussecats an authentic touch
:: being a sweetie
:: sampling lenten buns... and the day after
:: no april fool
:: pendant posing and on wheels
:: doing the bread basket curl
:: de-nutting
:: like father like son
:: tulip marauding (one exception to the sweetie rule)
:: waiting for the concierge
:: a taste of meringue heaven
:: inspecting national day pastries (he obviously has a sweet tooth, bless him)

~ Happy birthday little shiny liquorice fellow,
I'm so glad you
firmly decided not to move habitat ~
