hello august

To be honest, it has not only been a Lovely Day, but a lovely week. Keep going in this awesome way, August, so far you've rocked!

Monday: started the week painting circus nails (it's been far too long) and I think the colour combination is just spot on adorable - from left Essie Lilacism + First Timer and Chanel May + Mimosa + Coco Blue.

Tuesday: had a great vegan lunch with a friend at a vegetarian/vegan/raw place I hadn't tried before (Hälsocafét). This is a delicious plate of noodle salad with pulled VegMe (a new Swedish soy protein brand) and peanut sauce. The iced oat latte on top is also from that day. Loved all the colours and our good chat. (Although that picture was taken about 5 seconds before the rain just poured down.)

That day I also got a call from a recruiter wondering if I'd like to come for an interview for a position in a fun startup. Of course I would! So that's booked for Monday. Full-time position, but flexible and independent work so hopefully I would be able to shape my role so it suits both them and me well. Fingers crossed for good vibes Monday.

So now I'm looking forward to not only one, but two interviews, for in their own different ways, awesome jobs. Lucky me.

Wednesday: I've been looking forward to a really great pedicure for so long now. It has been too long since last. This was bliss. My mum got M and me pedicure gift cards for Xmas - we used them for this more than well-deserved treat, mum and I. So if not there in person, M was with me in thought.

Afterwards we had planned to see an exhibition at the Modern Museum, which is now one of the museums with free entrance in Stockholm. But for some odd reason this exhibition had a hefty price and no, no I'm not that keen on seeing it. So we settled for a walk around the regular exhibitions and most of all a really memorable lunch.

The fab museum restaurant serves a daily soup which is always vegan (I'm still amazed how fairly easy it is these days to find good plantbased food eating out. And even more amazed when it's not an exception but the rule. *Insert lots of hearts*). This day it was carrot and coconut, with a topping of croutons and roasted seeds. It was absolutely delicious. Spot on flavours and satisfying. The view that came with it didn't really hurt either. Such a wonderful summer Stockholm day it was. (Nb my Accidental Colour Coordination Syndrome showing again.)

Thursday: 99,99% of my time in public I use dresses or skirts. I feel restrained, uncomfortable and awkward in trousers. But since there would be quite a bit of heavy lifting and garbage recycling on Friday I took this ol' pair out on a test ride. I own 3 pair of pants, but the other two are in light linen so these are the only pair suitable for some kind of semi-hard labour. It was a reasonably painless experience wearing trousers again, but it's not something I'll do regularly ever again. Funnily enough though, my goal for the wee trousers outing was to pick up a skirt at the post-office.

Remember I wrote about a fantastic budgie skirt I'd seen, but that was out of my current price league? I've saved for it and when summer sales (at Bryony & Co, amazing vintage style clothes with lots of animal prints) came I went for it. Actually I wanted the navy one, not the pink but this was the only one sale so I went for it. It's absolutely gorgeous.

But, a big but, the waist is much smaller than expected which makes the skirt much shorter on me so alas it needs to be amended to fit as I want (no larger sizes to chose from). Such a nuisance when sizes aren't what you expect, it's one thing when you can easily return it to the shop and it's a more average garment, quite another when it's a beauty like this plus a more hefty return fee. I'm really not capable of making the amendment looking professional myself so I guess I'll have to get it to a tailor asap. So despite the sales it will be a bit costly, the budgie skirt. But it'll be worth it. Isn't there a saying that the best things in the wardrobe don't come easy? And if there wasn't I've just coined it.

Friday: finally I got help transporting all those big, black garbage bags with mainly garden debris and the old kitchen sofa etc to the recycling station. The fact that I couldn't do it myself since it demanded a car, a trailer and an extra pair of willing hands has really been weighing me down. I have zero interest in socializing with my neighbours, saying hello passing by on the street is the only social level I'm fine with, so that wasn't/will never be an option. And finding friends that have a car/driver's licence, willing to add a trailer, living reasonably nearby, have the time, or for that matter inclination, to help that has not been easy.

And yes, I don't like to ask for help, I want to be able to do everything myself. Having relied on M for things like this all these years, now not having that natural and obvious help anymore, has really brought out the Must. Do. Myself-feeling in abundance. In parts ridiculously so.

Independance is all good in general. But sometimes it also gets you stuck because once in a while you are not in a very practical way able to do it yourself. And then the seemingly insignificant things that are actually easily fixed can grow all out of proportion and laying themselves like heavy, wet blankets on your mind.

In the end I asked M's brother and he was happy to help. Which kind of surprised me given the aftermath and strange and unfair behaviour after M's passing... But I'm grateful for it and it felt incredibly good to get this done and removed from my back garden, from my life. That rubbish was so much connected with anger, resentment, sorrow and abandonement. Be gone.

And yes I'm still very much clueless, angry and sad that M's family - of which I'm apparently not considered a part after +26 years together... - have continously ignored my feelings and what M would have wished for me, kept me out of the loop. He would of course never ever have left me without a reasonable financial stability.

The fact that I myself could have, should have made different choices now and then during all these years doesn't really help now. It only serves as a very important life lesson and promise to myself never to let that happen again. Which isn't as 'only', just not a practical solution here and now.

And even if there are a lot of exciting, promising things happening now, by my own doing, it would be such an incredible relief having that buffert sorted already. Garbages bags gone. Worries not yet.

Friday was also the last day I had to take the replacement bus home. I celebrated that with a soy latte. And on the last little bit of regular bus ride from the station I noticed that that bus was a brand new biodiesel bus with both clever little smartphone chargers as well as free wifi. Better late than never, that's awesome.

Then coming home to this sight is also soothing for the soul and mind. Cats, the poster beings for mindfullness and the everything will be alright-attitude. I'm blessed to be seriously surrounded by that.

Thank you for giving me such
a generally great first week
of your month, August, please
continue to be kind and awesome,
yours gratefully P.

the diy book chair

One of the cutest, most brilliant armchairs I've ever seen! Spotted in a bookstore and such a great inspiration for a DIY, wouldn't you agree?

Discarded and thrifted books, and wood, together they get a new life as a chair, table or some other furniture. And if you haven't decided on the perfect Christmas gift yet, well it's high time to get building!

a wall of diy mosaic

In the toilet at the pizzeria Dammstugan The Pond Cottage), situated at Wenngarn castle (where we picked sunflowers and met adorable pigs), they have a pretty fabulous wall.

A mosaic wall made of old, crushed plates and porcelain items. Happy and inspirational, a great way to upcycle old pottery. And of course even if the impact is greater with a large wall this will be a fine kind of DIY on smaller objects too.

the blue-white keepcup

Who says you can't have more than one keepcup? It may have been a slightly impulsive move to buy another one with my tasty oat latte, despite having this awesome red-pink one, but that doesn't mean it was a bad one.

Because a) the large red-pink one is perfect for a large soy latte at Espresso House - I'm sure you could use it at any other coffee place too, despite the logo, but for me that's the only coffee chain / cafe where I know they can handle soy milk and always make a great latte with it.

b) the blue-white is medium sized and perfect for the oat latte I always get at just that place, Johan & Nyström - which apparently has been named Sweden's Best Cafe 2014 by Whiteguide and also Second best cafe in Europe by Alegra Awards. Not sure if I agree, because my kind of best cafes need to have reliable excellent service and always friendly staff (no matter if the guest is concidered to be of the *right* sort) plus be very much more cosy and quirky and less posh hipster. That said I do enjoy their oat latte, buy their teas often and is a rather frequent guest on my way to and from the train. So yes, I do recommend the place and enjoy lots of what they offer, but from that to The Best it's a long way to go...

Now I simply have to remember which way I'll take on a particular day so I bring the right keepcup, for the right coffee.

And yes, I find the blue-white colour combination rather dull - especially as Espresso House has lovely new, perky colours in their keepcups - but for some reason that's the only colour they have. However as they have a cafe in Helsinki now too the colour combo is very Finland befitting so that might be the reason.

I do know that I'll not forget to bring this new keepcup with me to Helsinki when we got there in November. Can't wait! Even if the cup itself isn't the major reason for my excitement, believe it or not.

meet the magical recycling wardrobe

The thrifted wardrobe which purpose is to hold all the recycling bags - glass, tin, cardboard, paper, plastic - is now fully assembled and my hall is transformed. And there's no room for cats to jump up and inspect anymore.

I adore its new airy, quirky look - totally bobbaloo approved as you can see - and when I've put together the happy lights for the mirror it will be basically done, but for a few finishing touches.

It was sad to see the old thrifted, wooden sofa I bought and transformed when I moved to my second apartment in 1991 finally being demolished. But it was really beyond repair now - for which I blame the cats - and it had served me well for over 20 years.

The hallway does look so much fresher and bigger without it - and a bit magical given the wardrobe's design. And to have all those recycling paper bags stored away is such a great relief.

recycle bins, please

For so many years now I've found it absolutely ridiculous that there aren't any 'paper' bins in the city that offers recycling possibilities. Because sorting your waste and recycling is so very important and Swedes are in general very  good at it.

But as soon as you have something to eat and drink on the go (without a keepcup and such) there are no possibilities of sorting plastic, glass, tin, paper and waste. Everything gooes into the same bin. What a waste, on many levels.

Recently visited the city of Örebro (remember the big yellow rabbit?) and was so very pleasantly surprised by the fact that they had these simple, clever recycling bins: four compartments for respectively paper, glass, plastic and waste. Great!

Why this isn't obvious and obligatory in every city already, stupidity.

the little recycling wardrobe inspector

Needed a change. Mainly regarding the keeping of the recycling bins (paper bags). Thought a lot about smart and appealing solution, that the cats can't interfere too much with.

Maybe create and build something? But came to the conclusion that up a cute blue (trying to have a blue theme in the hallway) second hand wardrobe would probably be an easy and affordable solution.

And here it is, not completely assembled yet, the frame needs to be attached. But I love the style á la Mickey Mouse-ish and certainly bobbaloo approved. And with lots of room for recycling of everything.

No room for cats inside. But this is what I found on top the same evening it arrived - snoopervision from above. There's no escape from that.

Looking forward to my new and improved hallway - with pictures to follow!

when a rag rug meets a sunlounger

täby centrum, stockholm, 2015

Spotted this in a shop window display recently and I have to say I think it's pretty brilliant in all it's simplicity.

Many of us who have inherited old rag rugs and even if they are beautiful not all of us are inclined to cover our floors in rugs. Luckily there are many good ways to use them and this is one.

Sunlounger + rag rug = true.

colourful life lessons for breakfast, noon and evening

food and drink stockholm, may 2015 -

A very early morning called for a soy latte to go. In the keepcup of course. The reason for getting up at 5.30 (crazy!) was a breakfast seminar about a so called reputation resume - which turned out to be great and if you didn't know it by now, the CV is dead, long live your reputation!

I also learnt that if you leave home at 6.30 you go slightly pre-rush hour and commuting isn't such a hassle then. Plus you can saunter, enjoy the weather, views and your coffee and still arrive well in time.

flowers sweden, may 2015

My goal was to find a couple of matching flower pots for the two new geraniums. I wanted a two smaller, white and painted ones. Unfortunately the only white one left was being used in the window decoration, but I got a reasonable earthy discount for both that one and the blue one I had to chose instead.

I was reminded of the fact that things don't always turn out the way you expect or want them too, but that can be a blessing in disguise. The now three pots with their respective geraniums look awesome on the office windowsill. I doubt three white/decorated ones would have looked better.

food at home, may 2015 -

My first ever taste of Dunkin Donuts donuts will also be my last. They may be übercute looking, but the taste was way to sweet and I really do not like frosting. At all. Just like I'm not a cupcake person I'm clearly not a donut person.

But the meet cute also confirmed that I obviously have a bobbaloo to match anything and everything. Still, there is always room for more.

the reusable keepcup

finally i got me a reusable, biodegradeable keepcup. in brilliant colours - red, pink, orange.

it seems ridiculous to keep buying the takeaway soy lattes in paper/plastic cups which you mostly can't recycle because there are no recycle bins available out and about.

i'm not a very regular drinker of these takeaways, i mostly sit down at the cafe for them. but still, too many papercups for comfort.

so meet my new clever cup, which i simply must remember to take with me whenever there's a slight chance the day holds a takeaway coffee.

every little step for a better world helps. and why not make those steps colourful?

the prosit sisters proudly present laptop skin and case

laptop skin

The new laptop has now been dressed in what can most likely be described as the most awesome skin ever. The Prosit sisters as kittens.

The customized skin was ordered at Schtickers and I'm very pleased with the quality in general. But there are two details that glitch.

A) The fact that you have to rely on eye measurement when you change the uploaded size of the photo. It looked fine on screen but irl it is visible (to me) that the sisters' heads are a bit too flat and squeezed together compared to the actual photo. The sizing procedure should be more accurate.

B) The second glitch is that the sizing of the corners of the skin isn't perfect. They need a bit of a trim. I thought I measured the flat surface perfectly, not sure it's my fault or not. And I suppose it's reasonably easy to trim myself.

That apart, a very high degree of adorable loveliness indeed.

P.A.P cases

The new laptop has also received a proper case. Or you could also say, little sister iPad case (made from recycled PET-bottles and wool) has now a big sister.

For weird and unknown reasons the Swedish company P.A.P's laptop cases has been adjusted to MACs only. By which they obviously miss a huge potential in customers.

I'm just pleased my laptop apparently is of the perfect case size despite being a happy non-MAC. So the 15" size is a perfect fit. I love its simplicity, design and material.

Both skin and case have been paw inspected and approved. By both Prosit sisters. Apparently the cases are great scratching cases for cats too. Who knew.

prosit has a new computer

new computer

Say hello to my and Prosit's new computer! I'm so pleased to finally get it. The old one, which came to live with me 4+ years ago, has been acting up more and more lately so it was time to look for something new. And this is what I decided on. It's a HP Pavilion and I feel it offers what I'm after as well as being rather snazzy looking. I'm so glad to have a white/silver computer this time, it's fresh and inspiring and hopefully we'll spend many years (well, at least 4+) together in a most prosperous way!

I've just ordered what I hope to be a fantastic customized skin for the new PC, very Prosit it is, because surrounding oneself with beauty and inspiration is always a good thing to do of course. And then there'll be a proper case for it. I'm hoping that I can get one from Swedish company P.A.P, like the one for the iPad. But it may be the silly little case of they only make cases for MACs. So if that's the case (no pun intended) I'll try and find another sturdy cover that's made of recycled materials.

The new computer has been inspected by the small sized woollies and I think they're pretty impressed. They have also promised to do their bit with keeping it clean and fresh with their little pink vacuum. If not there may be a case of restricted cafe visits and with-holding pastries. And that would be disastrous from a bobbaloo point of view I'm sure.

happy midsummer 2014 ~

innocent hedgehog

Some of my personal favourite ingredients for the day will be of the innocent pleasures kind;
good, vegetarian food, cake, strawberries, flowers and hedgehogs. Possibly cats too.

Hope you'll have a lovely summer day,
however you chose to spend it!

farewell, beautiful may

innocent lilies of the valley

This certainly is the prettiest of seasons, countless shades of green, a continous flow of new flowers, sweet scents and fresh starts. And as far as my office goes, from cowslips to lilies of the valley. From April to May.

What I bring with me from, yet another, lovely month is this -

:: that saying yes is most often the best thing to do. That by accepting an invitation on a rather short notice you're open to really, really, really good and unexpected things to happen.
:: there really IS such a thing as serendipity. And that makes my heart sing.
:: the generosity of some people can be really mindblowing. Truly. And when you meet such people they make you think about how important a feature that is, how inspiring and what can you do to pay it forward and pay it back.
:: how blessed I am to have met so many good people over the years, especially these past few years. And quite a few of them via Twitter.
:: I love Twitter. Such a great social channel on so many different levels. For so many purposes.
:: LinkedIn isn't half bad either.
:: that writing about states of confusion can be truly liberating and from that shift in thinking very good things can appear.
:: that you really should tell people about your dreams and what you want, it may feel silly, you may feel exposed and open to ridicule. But from being passionate and open you can get fantastic support and kindness when you least expect it.

And as always, the importance of beauty and inspiration. Unpretentious recycling and innocent sweetness in a bottle or two. Heart.

innocent cowslips

What things do you bring with you from beautiful May?

diy bird feeder

creative diy birdfeeder

Spotted this pretty darn fabulous diy birdfeeder at Alsta gardens last weekend. What a great way to use old pottery, ceramics, whatever beads you have lying around etc. Only your imagination is the limit to what can be created. I see bird feeders or bird baths, but I'm sure the creations can be used as hanging "baskets" for fruit, bathroom stuff or holders for all sorts of trinkets and treasures. Very inspirational, wouldn't you agree?

creative diy birdfeeder

I do believe I need to raid the nearest thrift store for old plates and bowls asap. And I have lots of glass beads since my jewellery making days that I won't use for jewellery again - when I get my jewellery making mojo back, I'm thinking it might have gone on an extended holiday in company with my reading mojo - which would be lovely to use for these creations instead of chunky wooden ones.

upcycled seat cushion

upcycled seat cushion

I know I've promised lots of pictures of pink office, but somehow there's always some tweaking that needs doing, improvements, a bit of tidying up, pink office styling etc etc - and the light is never really right. One day there will be light and there will be pictures, even if that day isn't today.

But I give you something small and pink instead, an unexpected detail I've been enjoying a lot since I bought it a few months back - an upcycled seat cushion. Easy to make yourself of course - and I have lots of those charity shop rags left - but it called my name, this crocheted seat (by MFJ Form) since no matter how comfortable a (pink) plastic office chair is it really can be terribly uncomfortable to sit on a warm day without a seat cushion.

And yes, this simple thing, crocheted with recycled rags, have been surprisingly kind to my behind. What a difference an upcycled pink seat cushion can make!

the yabba-dabba-doo skirt

the yabba-dabba-doo skirt

the stockholm city mission run several successful charity projects, including a bakery, cafes and quite a few second hand shops.

one of those shops is a special gem, situated in the big cultural center (the ugly building where the swedish parliament was housed a while during the seventies) in stockholm city - it's a smallish, fresh and inviting shop that only sells cleverly upcycled second hand stuff and new fairtrade items. they make simply awesome dresses, tunics, skirts, hats, bags and superadorable children/baby garments from old clothes and fabrics people have given to charity. it's so lovely and inspiring it'll actually make you weep (if you're a softie).

for very reasonable prices they sell the remade things under the label REMAKE.

myself i've been drooling over a fabulous summer tunic for months, sadly it didn't fit over my shoulders. would still love to have it but it feels silly to having to redo it the first thing i do... it was still for sale there today... i can't believe noone has snatched it a long time ago!

what i did find there and HAD TO try on today though was this happyhappyhappy skirt - i didn't know i needed one until i saw it, seriously, everyone needs one!! behold, a yabba-dabba-doo skirt.

recycled material, handmade, clever and unique, the money goes to charity - shopping at its best!

have a yabbadabbadooastic weekend one and all ~

on a random march tuesday

077

On a random March Tuesday I find that the banana-recycled silk scarf is nearly finished - it needs trimming and primming, but still, another yarn-project with a short finishing time from yarn-purchase to a complete garment. And by saying that I have of course put myself under pressure to finish it for sure. I have an idea how I want it, but I think the idea needs a bit of mulling. In the meantime I am actually knitting on the tulip sweater. 2012 needs to be the year this sweater gets completed.

Nearly finished scarf is proudly presented by the two naked bobbaloos, Bumley and Jaybird. Who also got to sport their nudity alongside a freshly baked lemon cake on this random March Tuesday. And there were crocuses.

056

And kittens. The most adorable pair of kittens got to have a their first venture out in garden, which was both an exciting and scary thing, the wind, the grass, the mud, the sounds, the birds, the smells - and the annoying photographer calling for attention and posing. Really.

049

More Ztina and Zigne later this week. I just felt a little glimpse of their current three months old adorableness were called for, alongside perky scarf, naked bobbaloos, lemon cake and crocuses. On this random March Tuesday.

all about the boots, purple and blue

shoe per diem dec 28, 2011 - two pairs are better than one

I did debate with myself if I was going to post an all shoes and boots post today already, as I mentioned it only yesterday, a bit of a teaser and then a little wait, that's usually my melody. But sometimes I tend to forget the tune and never post the thing that felt oh so important that day, other matters, life come between. And for better or worse, blogging is often all about the here and now, when a week, a month passes, the once oh so important feels un-blogworthy. Which I suppose it isn't, but it's tricky to foment the inspiration and inclination to write about something that isn't fresh in mind. At least when it comes to actual things and happenings, that aren't recurrent. Ideas, musings swirling are another story, they just need the brain to be in the mood for writing.

Enough blathering. Time for the boots. -- The show and tell about the gorgeous birthday shoes from Lisbon has been postponed indefinitely due to the calcaneal spur issue, which has effectively kept me from using them more than twice. When foot is back to its usual self, the purple shoe post is a must. -- But I can't promise to keep it short. I never can when it comes to shoes.

013

I got Christmas money. I was very happy about that (duh). Part of it was spent on boots. I meant to get one pair, but ended up splashing on two. Christmas money can make a gal do that. Apparently. And I kind of blame the above mentioned foot issue for that - not that I mind, I am very grateful for the fact that I am able to change shoes regularly, that I have a shoe wardrobe with colours to suit any mood and, touch wood, foot issue - my heel get a relief with a shoe with a moderate heel, after years of adoring the Iggdrasil model I have come to love the Tesela one most. For its comfortable heel and flattering style. I feel that model is very me.

The pretty maryjanes were followed by the awesome oxfords. Sadly I have not been able to find another pair of those in my size anywhere, I do hope for their return in the El Naturalista range this year... Thus I have been wearing them a lot this past autumn and winter - I'm not at all happy about this weird, mild weather we've had this winter, but my foot is grateful for the weather having allowed shoes that offer a relief for the ache and not forcing boots on these past months - and I wished there'd been shoes/boots to change with now and then, allowing the oxfords a well deserved winter rest.

015

So, I have been ogling a pair of ankle boots - which to be honest is not a favourite style of mine in general - in the Tesela model, with the same adorable cork button as on the the maryjanes. They seemed a bit more befitting for the season, but the colours available in the shops here were a bit dark and drab, when I spotted them in that gorgeous blue hue called vaquero in the webshop. Utterly swoonworthy... Sadly not available in my size. The tall boots in blue were however available in my size... Oh, I've been dreaming of a pair of blue boots ever since I saw them everywhere in Amsterdam, four plus years ago...

But since I have a real issue with most tall boots, ie they rarely fit the woman with *athletic* legs. -- Most tall boots are of course just ridiculously narrow and tight in shaft. But apart from catering for different leg sizes from the start, the boots could also quite easily be made to fit with a bit of wrap-around design (like the red boots), lacing or a proper (not only for apperance's sake) elastic input. -- So even if these boots looked alright I knew I had to try a pair on before I ordered them.

So I headed to my favourite shoe shop to try both the ankle boot and the tall boot. When I tried the ankle boots on I did find the model surprisingly cute and the purple colour - which I've said about a trillion times is not a favourite colour of mine, yet I fall for it on a regular basis - quite charming. So I ended up getting me a pair of these (bobbaloo approved) beauties.

028

The tall boots - with its for silly appearance's sake elastic input - were sadly lacking room for my snazzy calfs and the zipper was unable to perform its full duty. But they really looked amazing from the cork button outside, they really really did... And that blue coloured ones in webshop were really really calling my name...

And really why should us athletic calf bestowed women be left wanting for boots just because the design and zipper leave a few centimetres to be desired? There are leg warmers, there are - for me at very rare occasions - trousers and hey, why should only cool kids at a certain age be able to trot along with semi-zipped up boots without anyone taking any notice? Actually, why not make a bit of an athletic-calf-woman protest with it? This is how I'm designed, this is how many of us are designed, deal with it and start making boots that cater for different calf sizes. Naturally, at the same time as I'm showing off fabulous socks with that un-zipped style.

So I ordered myself a pair of heavenly blue Tesela tall boots. And they are just stunning. Stunning. Such a perky, quirky, stylish, unique, lovely pair. Blue boots, for a very very less than blue minded me.

020

Edit - just the other day I had a rather curious incident with them blues, my right leg had miraculously shrunk over a few days and suddenly I could zip it all up. Right leg only though, thus for left calf sympathizing's sake I'll continue sporting the semi-zipped look for now.

Edit two - some days, calf permitted, I'm able to wear them all zipped up. Those are especially good boots days. These blue beauties might be the single one reason for me not wanting spring/summer shoe-season to arrive...

el naturalista apple green and furry

IMG_3603

This will be a shoe post. And a colour post. With elements of loaf.

For long time readers of this blog it's very obvious I adore a certain shoe brand, which ingeniously combine comfort and quirky style. Add to that ecological thinking, recycling and craftmanship. Plus colours galore available. Name of said shoe brand is El Naturalista.

I think I can safely say (with a tad blush) that I'm their no 1 fan in Sweden - just today M said, which is completely untrue, of course, that who needs a webshop when one can turn up at my place to see all their models and different colours. Bah! But I can say as much as I have been lucky in the shoe sales - they're good to my feet. And I always want shoes that are good too feet, not only good looking. Shoes should definitely promote and instigate a lot of walking. But lest not forget, always look good while doing that.

I love the way one can so easily match the mood du jour with a certain model, a certain colour. Red (which is always right, any day), green (when one can't have red, go green is THE thing to do), yellow (happy colour), purple, orange, blue. Bliss.

And then, the mixing of said shoes with great socks, ah I'm in little shoe-sock-colour heaven! Another reason to want spring to really hurry up and arrive for real.

There, a little short background to my love for certain shoes. Which I don't show nearly as much in this blog as me participating in the Shoe Per Diem project. By the way, a shoe blog where more participants are more than welcome...

That said, yesterday, on my grumpy day - today felt in some parts much better, in others frustrating still. Life as it is - , I promised that shoes would turn colour. The colour of green.

Behold the latest member of my own private El Naturalista shoe family; another pair of clogs in my favourite model, the Iggdrasil (Yggdrasil being the name of the Tree of Life in Nordic mythology), apple green, swirl model, online winter sale a few months ago, who could resist. Obviously not me.

Love their apple green hue, love their clogs. I can walk for hours on city pavements as well as in woods and feet are not the least bit tired the day after. Quite the perfect shoes. Which certainly gets even better if your fortunate enough to have a few in different colours. They make my feet happy, thus I'm happy.

Same great outsoles as all shoes and boots in the Iggdrasil model, made of recycled rubber, anatomical insoles made from recycled cork are but a few of their lovely features. This swirl clog model is tad higher on ankle than the other clogs so they would perhaps not fit someone with a higher ankle. Other than that, simply apple green sweetness.

I'm also pleased little loaf totally approved of clog buy. He's a quality conscious little guy. Shoe box fitted him like a throne.

There's a new clog on the block.
He's swirly, his name is Apple Green.
