ask more questions
A little reminder of a very important thing: by questioning and asking questions in order to clarify, learn the truth and being able to make a better decision or job you will grow. Both as a person and a professional.
So what's your question?

vegan ice latte
On a hot summer day recently I opted for an iced version of the oat milk latte (at Johan & Nyström). No syrup or sweetener added of course, just good coffee, oat milk and ice.
And I have to say that it was even better than the regular warm oat milk latte. Lots of coffee flavour, no tang and very refreshing. I will certainly have that again soon!

cats at cat alley
certainly my favourite street name in stockholm: kattgränd ie cat alley.
which that particular day showed its name is true. not only one but two cats - which was numero uno was quite obvious.

örebro open art 2015, part I
in the same city as the clever recycle bins and the heart ring is the annual open art biennal held. it's very unlikely that there will ever be a piece of art as fantastic as the big yellow bunny from 2011 - still there were several lovely pieces this year. when i've sorted out the photos properly i will post more, but for now, i think this striking bicycle installation called 'installation nomade' by a French artist is my favourite this year. equal parts suggestive and eerie and quite beautiful with a good use of the space (if you don't look at the 'nomades' close up, because they look like menacing ghosts) -

recycle bins, please
For so many years now I've found it absolutely ridiculous that there aren't any 'paper' bins in the city that offers recycling possibilities. Because sorting your waste and recycling is so very important and Swedes are in general very good at it.
But as soon as you have something to eat and drink on the go (without a keepcup and such) there are no possibilities of sorting plastic, glass, tin, paper and waste. Everything gooes into the same bin. What a waste, on many levels.
Recently visited the city of Örebro (remember the big yellow rabbit?) and was so very pleasantly surprised by the fact that they had these simple, clever recycling bins: four compartments for respectively paper, glass, plastic and waste. Great!
Why this isn't obvious and obligatory in every city already, stupidity.

soy whip spray cream
i've always been very suspicious about whipped cream from a spray can. the cream always tastes artificial and bland/nasty.
and i would not have bought this one myself. not only because it contains palm oil.
but when someone brought it home anyway i felt i should at least try it. it was just as nasty as i thought. and the worst thing flavourwise was that it was absolutely ridiculously sweet.
i will continue to whip my dairy free soy cream myself. and hold on to the fact that cream spray cans are good only as scratch thingies for cats.

the green turquoise heart ring
Bought a greenish turquoise ring today. Out of the blue (no pun intended) and in the shape of a heart. It's only in plastic and it didn't cost much, but I think both colour and the heartshape is delightful and fun.
Just one of those confirmations that blue - turquoise is my unintentional colour of choice this year. From shoes, shoes and shoes, to dress, nailpolish and bobbaloos. Not to mention recycling wardrobe. This year that colour especially tugs at my heart strings it seems. And is all around.
My very first buy for August is a heart. How sweet is that.

the cat and the moon

The cat and the (almost full)moon.
It may not be the fanciest of photos, poor lighting conditions and a lack of sharpness are obvious reasons. But despite that I think this moment captured turned out quite lovely imho. Of course the cat (the littlest one) shoudl not be up there, yet she is. And it would have been even better if she had turned and faced the moon, but she didn't.
Still a lovely summer evening and I love how the moon looks, and the contrasting lights on either side of the snap of far far away and at home. And I would never have been able to so quickly snap a picture with the DSLR, iPhone is good for such moments.

tasty brew tea timer

I've never really thought about an hour glass for brewing tea properly. Or actually, I've never seen it in a Swedish tea shop. So when I spotted them in tea shops in Berlin I first thought they were cute but a bit silly.
I then changed my mind and got one at the löv tea shop and I find it incredibly useful. Especially great for when we drink different teas that calls for different brewing times (green, black and herbal/red). Have used it every day since I got it, so it has obviously already earnt its cost. Which was about 12 euro I think.
