At Somerled Square in Portree, Isle of Skye, squeezed in between the church and a sporting goods store, is the tiny and sweet scented Isle of Skye Soap Company shop. Handmade on Skye bath- and skincare products with only natural ingredients and aromatherapy oils this is truly a delightful little place that sells lovely products that make perfect, thoughtful yet unpretentious gifts for yourself or someone special.
Home with me came a few soaps and scrubs scented with lemongrass and and the unusual but amazing scent of sweet fennel & pumpkin seed, which smells like liquorice, mmm... And very appropriately, they do have whisky soaps too. And yes, their website is an online shop...
Ah, these small, handmade and crafts business are just so very, very agreeable and I really wouldn't mind seeing myself as the eccentric Swedish catlady with a loaf doggie living in a small whitewashed house at the edge of the Scotland, boiling soaps and candles in the kitchen and selling them in the adjacent little shop of scents... While pondering life and writing The Novel with capital N of course...

It sounds and smells delightful!
The soaps look delicious. I went to a fair in January where a lady sells beautiful small soaps 10 for $10, which is great as I don't like soaps that get all soggy. I bought 20 this year, and am still using them. All through winter, it has reminded me of summer days.
It is always so tempting to think of packing up and getting away from the ratrace!!
Thanks, Titania, it really was/is...
Oh, that sounds lovely, Poppy Q, handmade soaps are terrific and such good souvenirs, gifts and as you say, they do bring back memories of certain times.
Sadly it is kind of difficult to try and look pass the ratrace, even if you don't want to be in it yourself though still like living where you live, there is always the fact that you have to pay the bills etc... Sigh.
