Pending...

... this heatwave to pass I'll save all those issues I've planned to write about until my thoughts, mind and fingers on the keyboard are working as usual - or is that just a perfect excuse for Ms Procrastinate? - and instead show some darling pink roses. Pink. Roses. Well, one can never ever go wrong with that, right?

And these particular roses I found at one of those lovely places of wild strawberries I so recommend a visit to, as a roadtrip - Alsta Gardens

Some Like It Hot

IMG_2309

This past week we've experienced a heatwave at these latitudes. On the one hand I'm delighted the sun is shining, since it always makes everything seem so much easier to deal with, on the other hand it's plain weird that it's this hot, this early in season and the once very lush garden is suffering a lot. I'm not one to water a whole lot of lot hence the garden is now basically submitted to Darwinism (only the fittest survive).

IMG_2311

The cats and loaf doggie probably isn't to happy about the heat either, they tend to seek refuge in shade or indoors - which isn't the best solution since in this house indoors is pretty much as warmed-up as outdoors - with some exceptions. The liquorice trolls who are always running and playing no matter the temperature, bouncing black energy balls of fluff.

Then there are some who actually think a bit of sunbathing in the hottest spot is the thing to do - since you never know whenever there's a cold snap and the door to the garden isn't opened all day. While others now and then show signs of desperation to find a reasonably cool spot to get some rest in. Entry hall floor is pretty decent for that.

Myself I'm torn between enjoying the sun with heat and seeking shadow and ways to be able to relax and cool down. Enjoying a fruit smoothie is one way to do that. This particular one was lovely - vanilla-elderflower yogurt with raspberries and mango, swirl goes the blender, top with psyllium and sunflowerseeds, makes undersigned's tummy very happy.

Shopping Bag

080692 018

Behold, new and cute shopping bag from - hardly no surprise, one of my favourite beautyproducts companies - Kiehl's!

Offwhite cotton with a quite adorable, naïve print made by a Swedish designer - darn it, name unknown to me - half the sum of the most affordable price 75 SEK (about 12 USD) goes to Naturskyddsföreningen (the Swedish Society For Nature Conservation). Which might have something to do with the cotton in the bag probably not being the eco-kind, but hey, it's a good step to pay for emission licences too!

Unfortunately the bag can't be machine washed, since the print will then vanish, but I'm sure it'll work just fine to handwash it now and then too.

When possible I try my very best, with more or less success, to have a re-usable shopping bag tucked in my handbag du jour - and the Kiehl's one is definitely a new favourite! Since I'm a passionate saver of, not only the more tangible things now and then but also, words and expressions of wisdom and experience, I also enjoy the quote on the other side of the bag -

"Love what you do, put your heart into it and you will be rewarded"

The Menace of Squeaker Toy

IMG_2289

Never ever give squeaker toy to energetic loaf doggie extraordinaire, if you want some peace and quiet. Not to mention an undisturbed sleep. Since squeaker toy is best invention ever as far as loaf doggie is concerned one must show due gratitude. Squeak a lot.

IMG_2290

Once in a while there are squeaker toys that actually lasts more than 1-2 hours - immense gratitude for them are extra due. Can't get enough of intoxicating sound that comes from the wonderful thing called squeaker toy.

Since this isn't a sound blog you have to trust me on this - the noise coming from exhibit no 1 above has to be one of the most annoying, headache causing sounds this side of squeaker toy hell - which is a place I'm fairly sure exists.

That plus supercharged bouncing tyke of loaf doggie extraordinaire who is very skilled at as well as finding it immensely worth while trying and biting and squeezing the thing in different positions and angles - things used to be so much more peaceful around here...

June 1st = Summer

IMG_2248

... and as far as I'm concerned nothing says Swedish summer quite like a slow sway in a hammock or a hammock settee on a warm day. Accompanied by a good book or day-dreaming away. A dash of bliss.

Inner City Lilacs

IMG_2133

The size, spread and fragrance of these inner city lilacs is both immensly impressive as well as seductive. They kind of slightly put my little haven of lilacs to shame. Ah the abundance of green lusciousness..., this time of year is truly magical naturewise.

With A Little Help From A Friend

With these past days, weeks of mess - and I suspect one can't see the light in the end of the tunnel yet as far as these things are concerned unfortunately, blah, blah, blah and then blah - I'm at least proud to finally present my reborn website - *voilá*

And since I'm creative in the non-webdesigning-html-code-kind-of-way I have of course had help, a whole lot of help from a friend, *thanks-ever-so-much*!

I think it looks so much cleaner - I'm very far from a friend of too much graphics on websites, I'm looking for information and pictures, not falling stars, rosebuds, ribbons, raindrops and all that nonsense fuss, so I'm quite happy that my site too has gotten rid of that stuff at last - and easier to browse through. This time only in Swedish, yet. I'll be adding the information in English and new pictures soon, but this will do so very fine for now. Welcome to have a peek.
