If the snow doesn't happen to fall and you want to go by commuter train that is (like me) - every year it's the same old story, everyone but the owners and administrators of that particular part of the public transportation system knows that snow is very likely to fall in Sweden. It's very likely indeed that the temperature will fall quite a bit and that heaps of snow will be a natural part of the city's look for winter.
It's rather easy, even if sometimes timeconsuming, to get from north to south (that takes you right through the city center). But not as easy to get from west to east in the Stockholm suburbs. Today I tried a new way of getting from west to east, by bus. I like going by bus and discover new parts of the city and its suburbs which you tend not to see while travelling by underground.
The reason for taking that bus was mainly for visiting poor M at the hospital. In hindsight it would probably have been easier and quicker to get the c-train to the city and change to the underground, it felt like it took aaageees to get there...
And since I'm always looking for an excuse to try out new cafés and restaurants this was also an opportunity to try Hamnkrogen Stocksund, which I happen to read about the other day. It was really a miniature Inn with a small café during the day from May - September.
If you're willing to look past the fact that some utterly ignorant fool of a tractor/boat owner had that darn tractor on idle running for about 20 minutes just beside the café it was rather nice to enjoy a yummy sandwich with lovely latte overlooking the lake and marina.
On the islet in the middle of the lake is actually another interesting restaurant situated, called Bockudden. Hopefully I'll be able to make a return visit to that place this summer. And take some mouthwatering pictures...
M seems to be on the right track to recovery, even though he looked slightly pitiful in the hospital bed. I'm sure that look must have been influenced by that rather... well, uninspired in lack for better words, hospital food...
But on the bright side, he sure has a wonderful view from his hospitalbed close to the window, overlooking the Ulriksdals castle (from the opposite side of the picture though)
I also made a very special, new friend today - so special that the friend will have a very own posting soon...
