Many years ago I bought a scented candle in what was then one of my favourite shops here in town, it was a French de luxe pamplemousse (grapefruit) candle and its scent was of the delicate yet irresistible swooning kind. The shop discontinued selling these candles and I haven't been able to find then anywhere else. I don't remember the brand of candle but I still have the discreet and sweet package left somewhere and the search will continue on an irregular basis, because this was such a wonderful scented candle, pricey but counting by the burn hours and the inspirational, relaxing times I've enjoyed with it lit it was so worth every penny.
These two candles I decided to treat myself to a while ago, from
Voluspa and when bought in Sweden rather high priced, but then again if the burn hour on these travel candles -
and what an ingenious idea is that, mood setting, relaxing travel candles rock! - is 45 hours as the box states then the price is reasonable I suppose.
The
Santiago Huckleberry candle has a fragrance combo of Huckleberry, vanilla pods and sugar cane, which makes for a heavenly scent. The
Goji Tarocco Orange fragrant is made with
gojiberries -
the ones which are excellent in smoothies, red and yellow - and bloodorange. The scents are similar to each other, but the latter candle being slightly more crisp and less vanillaey in fragrant. All and all pure loveliness in a pretty travel tin.

Generally I don't like scented candles. The scent to me is to strong and fake. BUT, I guess you get what you pay for! You say, yours are pure bliss and the scent is delicious; I might have to try again! I did not know that there were candles available to take with you when travelling how utterly marvelous.
I definitely agree that scented candles that are made from cheep artificial ingredients can be horrible, Titania. I sell some myself that are handmade in Sweden from good quality ingredients and I love those too (scents like freshly brewed coffee, chocolate cake, pumpkin, autumn harvest, summer night and such), but they're in general of a stronger scent and may not appeal to everyone. The Voluspas may be of a stronger scent too, but a delicious one. The French pamplemousse candle was just lovely and delicate, like fine soap and fresh laundry...:)
i want this in a perfume. how do i find it? i love gogi, tarocco & orange scent beyond belief!

there should be contact information/retailers info I think. I found my candles and the department store NK in Stockholm, Sweden, where they seem to have the full range of the stuff. I didn't see if the goji tarocco orange came in perfumeish shape though. Good luck, Anonymous!

Thanks for an informative post. Voluspa candles are really great, and speaking as a retailer - although I may be a little biased - the Santiago Huckleberry is one of the best of all. Have you tried the complimentary fragrance didffuser? It's lovely!
