These black beauties were the highlight of my Friday. I suspect they are actually young bulls and not cows, but bulls and calves fall into the specie category of cows too I suppose. So let's call them cows, because that's such a beautiful word, such a beautiful animal. For me they inspire thoughts of kindness, no harm, compassion, green eating (not necessarily grass), slow living, being in the here and now, philosophizing.
My wish is that these five black beauties live long and cow happy lives. As should all cows.

Pia; they are yearlings and Angus cattle; they are lovely. I have a very soft spot for cattle. Did you know that when a herd is grazing freely the mothers graze together and look out for each other's baby. An aunty is always assigned to babysit. An older child helps with the baby and the family stays together. I am talking about COWS. It is really wonderful to see how they behave when they can lead a decent life.
Wonderful. Yes, if it was like that for all cows I would be delighted. As I said, I hear the trucks going by to the slaughterhouse every night. I find comfort in the thought that most (?) Bavarian cows live similarly to the ones you met. They spend most days on some field in the alps, digesting and sunbathing.
